Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit the Life After Death website (this site), how it is used, and the choices you have. This site is an informational page for our DayZ community server, and we keep data collection to a minimum.
Information We Collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and this website has no contact forms, sign-ups, or checkout. We do not intentionally collect names, emails, or payment details through this website.
Some limited, mostly-anonymous data is collected automatically:
- »Usage analytics. We use WordPress.com / Jetpack Stats to understand general traffic (pages viewed, referring sites, browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address). This is used in aggregate to see how the site is performing.
- »Server logs. Like most websites, our web host may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, date/time, and the page requested, for security and reliability.
Cookies
Our analytics provider may set cookies or similar technologies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site will continue to work normally without them.
The Live Server Status Display
The player count shown on our home page is retrieved by our website from Steam's public game-server directory. This request happens on our server and does not send any of your personal information to Steam. It only reads publicly available information about our game server.
Third-Party Services
- »Automattic / WordPress.com (Jetpack). Provides the analytics described above. See Automattic's privacy policy for details on how they handle this data.
- »Discord. Our site links to our Discord server. If you click through and join, your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own Privacy Policy and Terms, not this one.
- »Steam. Used only to read our public server status, as described above.
What We Do Not Do
- »We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- »We do not run advertising networks or profile you across other sites.
- »We do not collect payment information on this website.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data relating to you, and to opt out of certain data collection. Because we collect so little through this site, most requests relate to the analytics data held by our provider. You can reach us using the contact details below and we will do our best to help.
Age Restrictions
Our community and DayZ itself are intended for a mature audience. This website is not directed at children, and our Discord requires members to meet Discord's minimum age requirement (13+, or higher where local law requires).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
